Niagara Falls is one of the most popular destinations in Canada. Although the awe-inspiring waterfalls are shared with the United States, most travelers agree that the Canadian side is more spectacular.Like all popular destinations, it’s hard to choose where to sleep, where to eat and where to go.

This time around tourists decided to stretch my budget so that tourists could stay in a hotel with a view of the falls. The tourists chose Crowne Plaza. The rooms cost an average of $ 250 per night and being able to see this natural spectacle from my window is simply awesome. The hotel has wifi included (in Canada there is internet everywhere and very fast), plus a great location, with lots of activities and entertainment, with lots of themed restaurants and ambiance.

When to go to Niagara Falls?

The falls can be visited year round. In winter, they are especially beautiful if you can withstand the cold. The downside this season is that activities near the waterfalls are closed, although hotels offer very good discounts.

Spring and fall are for many the best time to visit the falls, the weather is more pleasant and there are not many people. Summer is the busiest time of year, although it is very hot they are obviously very busy, all attractions are open and this is the best time for outdoor activities in the area. However, the crowds can be overwhelming. Just like the heat too.

The food

In terms of restaurants, it’s like in all known tourist places, either you love or you hate. The choices are mostly ruled by franchises of all kinds: Hard Rock Café, Rainforest Café, Ihop, and everything in between. However, they are very convenient if you are traveling with your family. If you are not very picky about food, go to one of the chains you already know and love.

If you’re looking for something more unique, you’ll have to wander away from this area or head to Niagara on The Lake, which by the way is worth a visit. It is a charming little town with perfectly preserved 19th century architecture with historic hotels and restaurants with excellent food, in addition to great wine, especially the ice wine. The area is obviously famous for the waterfalls, although there is a lot you can do there besides admiring such natural beauty.

What to bring?

Depending on the season, you will need to wear the right clothes. If you travel in summer, be aware that it will be very hot so don’t forget the sunscreen! An umbrella or waterproof jacket will be useful when the breeze from the falls is choppy, and take comfortable shoes, as you walk a lot.

How to get there?

Lots of people drive to the falls which is a good idea. If that is not possible, you can get from Toronto by train or bus in two hours.From New York, it will take 7 hours by car and about 11 hours by public transit. It is best to fly to Bufallo, NY (1 hour) and from there to the falls (30 minutes).
