Before you plan your stay in Dubai, you should understand that there are some residency regulations that apply there. Whether you are moving to the mainland or a free zone in Dubai, you will have to issue a residence permit here. 

The authorities here will start working on your Visa as soon as all the necessary documents for the same have been submitted. • Through Employment

One of the most common reasons foreigners apply for a Dubai residence visa is work. However, you will need a sponsor for this. While the easiest way is to ask for your employer’s sponsorship, you can also obtain residency with sponsorship from a UAE national. In the first scenario, you will require an Entry Permit to allow you to visit Dubai. 

Once you have reached here, your sponsor can then apply for a residency Visa. If the employer is issuing your Entry Permit, they will also require permission to hire you and submit their business license. The Entry Permit has an expiration date of 2 months, and the residence Visa must be acquired within that. 

For any emigrant sponsoring their family member, there are some different requirements. Firstly, they should have a monthly income of more than AED 3,000 if the employer offers accommodation. If not, they should have a minimum income of AED 4,000. 

• Through Company Registration

Another popular way of acquiring a residency visa in Dubai is through company registration in either the Emirate or one of the several free zones. It is a commonly known fact that an onshore company implies that a local partner is your sponsor and one in the free zone gives you full ownership. 

Obtaining a residence visa through company registration will allow you to hold shares of any local company while also hiring new employees for yours. The maximum tenure for such a kind of residence Visa is 3 years. However, you can also renew your Visa a month before its expiration if you plan to extend your stay. 

• Through Family Members

Many foreigners who have already relocated to Dubai can also sponsor their close family members, especially spouses and children. The basic requirement is that they will have to have a monthly income of AED 3,000 or AED 4,000 and extra funds for accommodation. 

This cut-off increases if you are acquiring the Visa for your parents, in which case it is a minimum of AED 10,000. Similar to the first process mentioned, the sponsor must apply for an entry permit a month prior to your visit.
